Smith, the co-founder of the health and wellness app Keep it Cleaner, was mortified.
“I’m pretty sure it’s up there with the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to me,” Smith, 28, told her co-host and longtime friend, Laura Henshaw, on the KICPOD podcast.
“I sent a nude to my mum and dad.”
Smith, who at the time was living by herself and had just moved out of home, immediately sent the photo to Henshaw – asking for help.
Henshaw, 29, the other co-founder of Keep It Cleaner, said she was on her way to Smith’s house at the time.
After seeing the photo that Smith had sent, Henshaw said she thought, “Oh my god, why are you sending this to me?”
Smith, who has since married and welcomed a son with Miller, said: “The worst part was Mum was like, ‘I don’t think we needed to see that’.
“I was like, ‘Mum just don’t respond, don’t respond!’”
Henshaw described the tricky situation they faced, trying to figure out any way to delete the photo.
“And I remember … sitting on your bed, being like what do we do?” Henshaw said.
However, they realized it was too late – as Smith remembered that both her parents had auto-save enabled on their phones, meaning the photo would save to their camera rolls.
Discussing their most embarrassing moments on the podcast episode, Smith also recalled accidentally opening a nude photo of herself in front of a make-up artist.
“I just know that they saw it, ’cause they were over my shoulder,” Smith said of the make-up artist.
This “mortifying moment” was from when Smith was a model, prior to founding Keep it Cleaner in 2017 with Henshaw.
As well as the fitness and wellness app, Keep It Cleaner has expanded to a podcast KICPOD and a healthy food range, available at Woolworths and Coles.
Smith and Miller welcomed their one-year-old son Harvey in May 2021.
